It'a okay to want to try control the world
What would you do if you could control everything and everyone? Wouldn't it be great to be in charge of EVERYTHING???... go on, be honest...
We know we can't control it all, it's why we can be so frustrated so often... it doesn't diminish the desire to do so.
But then imagine constantly being told that your natural instincts and way of being are something to be ashamed of, something unnatural, a sign of not being a good person ... Whether it's your desire to control, to hyperfocus, to move about, to question everything, to need time alone, to speak directly, to create order, to line things up, to sort things, to stim ... to simply exist in your natural state...
It's all wrong and must be hidden at all costs... imagine what that does to a person's sense of sense and self esteem? It is no surprise that anxiety and low self esteem have become synonymous with neurodivergence.
It's really okay to WANT to control the world... toy with that idea, what would you make your teacher do? What would you do to your bedroom? ahhhh wouldn't that be amazing??? then agree, it's a shame we can't - that is a very different message, that may just save a child's mental wellbeing.
