Q: Shouldn't I push my adhd/autistic child to socialise, tolerate change and uncomfortable sensory experience in order to build resilience?
A: It's not how it works and it's why traditional methods are a ticking mental health time bomb for NDs.
Traditional therapy relies on exposure and desensitisation... NDs need 80% of needs met in order to fulfil the 20% compromise.
It's more joint than muscle, using uncomfortable skills does not make us stronger, it wears us down to burnout.
